Summary:
The Systems Administrator will support the corporate enterprise. The system administrator will analyze tasks, recommend solutions, schedule and follow the solutions through to successful completion. The system administrator will be working primarily with servers, operating systems, applications and disk storage. Support customer applications including programming, reports, database maintenance, workstation connectivity, user support, user training, and user account administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide analysis related to the design and development of computer systems.
2. Develop test strategies, devices and systems.
3. Performs stress and performance tests on a variety of products and systems.
4. Provide technical expertise in all aspects of system administration and knowledge of system administration processes and procedures.
5. Perform systems and requirements analysis, planning, supports design, development and integration systems and architectures.
6. Provide support for network hardware, such as switches and hubs.
7. Provide engineering and scientific analysis in support of technical teams performing acquisition management and lifecycle support functions.
8. Provide SQL Server and Oracle database management support services to include both end-user support activities and technical database support activities, such as troubleshooting, configuration and optimization.
9. Maintain database replicas across multiple data centers utilizing replication tools (replication/log shipping)
10. Provide data entry, storage, and retrieval techniques and technologies; integrate databases into software systems; and provide database application analyses, design, development, configuration and management.
11. Provide database design assistance for system enhancements and new systems development.
12. Make changes to production databases, such as creating new accounts, scheduling jobs, password changes, and modifications to server configurations.
13. Assist with migrating legacy systems into emerging enterprise systems development, and modernize legacy systems into web enabled applications; to maximize database performance, availability and security, and perform database administration tasks in a controlled fashion.
14. Support projects involving any new or existing database implementations that require access to an RDBMS or will exchange data with an RDBMS that have any impact on the existing or planned systems, to include administering applications' RDBMS within available test environments on separate systems from production for patch testing, version changes and troubleshooting.
15. Schedule and run database jobs; develop and run customized and ad-hoc reports; and support data extraction and manipulation requests as requested or required.
16. Install database applications on servers and develop installation procedures for client installations to be performed by the desktop support staff as requested or required
17. Perform and monitor all database backups and restore database in response to minor and/or major database failures.
18. Other duties may be assigned to meet business/operational needs.

Supervision:
May provide specific task direction but does not have formal supervisory responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

•Must have the ability to work perform independently as well as in a team environment.
•Demonstrated technical expertise in all aspects of systems and requirements analysis, planning, supports design, development and integration systems and architectures.
•Must have the ability to be open to new ideas and changing technology.

Education and/or Experience:
Associates degree and Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional computing environment with 3 years of experience in system administration or high school diploma, military/technical school accreditation, and/or on the job training and 7 years experience in the field. Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory; and the ability to remove, replace, or install network switches, servers, and NAS devices. Visual Basic, Visual Studio C# .Net,, PL/SQL Developer, and Microsoft Excel. Cognos experience preferred.
