Systems Analyst

Primary Objective of Position
Systems Analyst - Responsible for the maintenance, enhancement, daily management and administration of Research & Development application systems.
This role is a critical support function which demands excellent communication skills, attention to detail and hands on troubleshooting of systems.
This is a customer facing position requiring interactions at all levels of the business.
Major Duties/Responsibilities
Provide 1st and 2nd level support for Research & Development applications to client Associates at in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and IT Quality.
Plan, test and perform the installation, configurations and maintenance of application and operating system patches.
Create and maintain documentation on the current configuration of applications.
Communicate status of activities to management.
Write and execute test protocols and scripts.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related specialty or equivalent experience/training.
Experience
Minimum 4 years experience
1 years experience Pharmaceutical industry experience supporting Research & Development applications
3-4 years of desktop experience, 2000, XP
Experience with Laboratory instruments and their controlling software
2 yrs with support and administration of Multi-tier applications.
Experience with Application configuration.
Windows Server 2003 administration
Change-control experience
Knowledge of Application Life Cycle management
Experience supporting Java and .Net applications
Web Server Support
Test script creation and execution
Application support/administration processes.
Additional Preferred Experience
1 yr with support and administration of Citrix servers
1 year linux experience (debian, red hat)
Troubleshooting OSX 10.4 experience

Windows Server Support
Skills/Abilities
Windows server 2003 administration
SQL/Oracle database understanding
Application support/administration processes, IIS and Apache Web Server support
Application configuration
Application Life Cycle management

Citrix metaframe presentation server administration.
