The candidate for this position will be the lead for the Deployment Build-out and Integration Team in Fairfax, VA that will be working on the Integrated Wireless Network (IWN) Program which is a joint program for the Department of Justice and the Department of the Treasury. This position seeks highly motivated and energetic persons that will be the local Deployment Project Lead face to the customer. The candidates will require the ability to work within a collaborative environment which includes the customer; Scottsdale, AZ based deployment and manufacturing teams; other General Dynamics entities; and subcontractors. The responsibilities of this position include: direct interface with the customer to establish requirements, goals and expectations, leading proposal activity regarding system deployment, system deployment and test strategy development, coordination of build, installation and test activities (including customer acceptance); participation in site survey planning and execution, headcount planning, system integration planning, verification planning and deployment planning. The duties include: trade studies (including defining the trade space for the team), scope control, cost and risk management (able to manage a risk profile and design and execute effective mitigation strategies), and develops business case analysis as required that acknowledges technical, schedule, and cost constraints. This position requires the ability to work within the engineering, manufacturing and deployment processes through the development and implementation of project metrics. The ability to work within a formal development and execution process, a desire to work across functional and company boundaries and experience with communication system deployment projects is required.BS/BA degree or equivalent is required. Masters degree preferred. In addition, 14 years of directly related experience and demonstrated results in the field of Systems Deployment on large scale communication networks is perferred. Demonstrated past experience with excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment is required. Areas of knowledge and experience to apply to this systems deployment position include: demonstrated effective leadership on system deployment projects, managing a variety of major subcontracts and logistics aspects. Must have skills in program scheduling, budgeting and reporting (including Earned Value Management, SPI/CPI performance and or C/SSR), and a sound understanding of system deployment processes. Understanding of networks and radio equipment, including Land Mobile Radio, Commercial Wireless and mesh networks is required. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a Department of Justice Top Secret Security Clearance. Extensive travel may be required.
