We are currently looking for a Documentation Developer to work a long-term contract for us in the Greenbelt, Maryland area for 6-12 months++.  The project REQUIRES US Citizenship and a background experienced in optical systems and laser ranging.  The opportunity requires somebody with more of a Systems Engineering background that has done all of the softwrae and hardware documentation as it pertains to satellite laser ranging.  A Bachelor's degree and at least 5 yeras of experience is required as well.  The complete job description is as follows:

Document the current software, hardware, and facilities design of the Satellite Laser Ranging system, as well as the current operational and safety procedures.  Documentation efforts will include, but are not limited to, the development, detail and augmentation of satellite laser ranging procedures, software functionality of major programs, overall system functionality, equipment functions, station optical systems, mechanical systems and station facilities.  Candidate will work closely with software and hardware engineers as well as operational personnel in creating the system documentation.  A good working knowledge of MS Word is required and experience in the use of mechanical, electronic, and optical drawing CAD software is desired.  A bachelors degree and 5 years minimum experience in a science or engineering field is required along with formal training in the development of technical documentation.  Occasional nighttime and weekend work may be required and local travel is involved.
