Systems Engineer-Level III
About the Job
Seeking Systems Engineer III with experience in analysis, design, development, and fielding of next generation Biometrics systems. Individual will provide identification/resolution of problems within existing systems, design/implementation of new systems, and enhancement of existing systems. Responsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available Biometrics products, and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the development team.
Must also have the ability to analyze and provide recommendations on issues dealing with system and operational architectures; coordinate with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives; and apply emerging doctrine and tactics to system design and development while assessing the impact of programmatic and technical options on stated user requirements and doctrine.
Job Description: Experience as a systems engineer on one or more Biometrics platforms is preferred. Must have solid technical background with a focus in Biometrics systems/modalities. Skill areas include telecommunications, operating systems, database/DBMS and applications are required.
Major Duties Include:
Ø Technical advisement regarding Biometrics programs;
Ø Acquisition, cost, and engineering support ensure the effective execution of Biometrics programs;
Ø Research of biometrics systems and products;
Ø Proposal development and presentation;
Ø Design and engineering of biometrics systems;
Ø Program support, from conception through implementation, of biometrics systems and products; and
Ø Conferring with scientific, engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems, such as requirement deficiencies and system malfunctions, incomplete test data, and data interpretation, considering such factors as conditions under which the test was conducted and phase of the test used to obtain and record data.
Ø Analyzing and interpreting test results and prepare technical reports for use by engineering and management personnel.
Ø Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be customer- and detail-oriented, and possess good decision-making abilities.
Requirements:
· Doctorate and 1 year experience; OR
Master's Degree and 3 years experience; OR
Bachelor’s Degree or higher and 5 years experience; OR
Associate's Degree and 7 years experience; OR
High School/GED and 11 years experience
· Must be willing to work independently or as part of a team.
· Must currently have or be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
· Must be willing to relocate to the Clarksburg, WV or Arlington, VA area (1 position at each location).
