Scope of Position:
* Support our Managed Services customers as they transition from Implementation to Operations
* Utilize the automation tools available to the group to support overall goals of Service Transition Organization
* Utilize Remedy for Problem Management and Change and Task Management.
* Ensure delivery documents are updated and complete as part of formal turnover to Operations
* Manage multiple projects and shifting workloads.
Basic Function:
* To provide Expert knowledge and support in all phases of Pre Production
* Create and maintain standards and documentation for related software, hardware, processes, and procedures
* Ensure successful transition/completion of all issues.
* Provide accurate, timely documentation of work progress and resolution within trouble ticket tracking system.
* Ensure Customer Satisfaction
* To ensure service availability & reliability
Responsibilities:
* Troubleshoot Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 issues based on monitoring alerts, Quality Assurance checks and customer requests.
* Perform advanced maintenance and upgrades to servers including security patches, hardware, firmware and software configurations necessitated by application installation.
* Work directly with customers to bring their systems to a production-ready state
* Ensure Quality deliverables OLAs are kept in tact as environment is turned over to Operations
* Provide consultative expertise during testing exercises.
* Consistently provide successful resolution for immediate and critical cases
* Act as escalation point for Pre Production customers
* Communicate directly with end customer's business and technical contacts
* Work with automation and implementation teams to update process and procedures as necessary.
* Understand Opsware and identify new / updated automation endeavors to support PPQ goals of customer satisfaction, reduction of incidents in Operations related to Implementations and Efficient use of resources
* Continued technical Education
* Continued SunGard certification (Implementation through Decommission of Managed Services)
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
* Bachelor's degree, engineering or scientific major preferred, or industry recognized certification or equivalent strong work experience but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
* 4 to 6 years experience in a networked Windows/Intel server production environment.
* Experience with Windows 2000/2003/2008 systems administration, the Internet, and TCP/IP networking.
* Experience IIS, Exchange and Active Directory.
* MCSE, RHCE and /or UNIX certification preferred.
* Demonstrated in depth knowledge of TSM or Netbackup systems
* Extensive problem solving and troubleshooting skills
* Dedication to providing world-class customer service
* Ability to facilitate discussions to resolve technical issues with multiple teams
* Team player who can lead or follow as necessary
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Excellent written and verbal skills
* Ability to participate in off-hours and weekend support
* Ability to effectively deal with change
* Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple demands at once
* Must possess strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a dynamic and fast- paced environment
Other Preferred skills:
* Experience developing, documenting and socializing systems or business management processes
* Experience dealing with IT audits such as ISO and SAS-70
* Experience providing services with a data center outsourcer, managed services provider, or web hosting business
* Knowledge of TCP/IP, FTP, SAN, NAS, Microsoft Cluster Server environments
* Advanced scripting skills utilizing vbscript, / python / shell script / powershell / batch file scripting
