Description:
Applications Hosting Engineering Branch (AHEB) is seeking an engineer to work on the Virtual Information Processing (VIP) architecture. VIP leverages VMWares ESX software to create a virtual hosting environment, supporting a wide variety of applications. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the security statue of the virtual infrastructure to include patching and accreditation of the infrastructure. The candidate will work on the other VIP activities as time allows.
Qualifications:
- Several years of experience with the design, implementation and operation of one or more of the VMWare server virtualization products.
- Experience with RedHat Linux and Microsoft Server 2003 operating systems
- Prior experience operating in a highly demanding IT O&M environment, to include developing system architectures, direct support of system servers and applications, providing tier 2/3 engineering support and coordinating with external service providers
- Prior experience with IBM BladeServer hardware and HP DL585, 580 and 380 server hardware
- Experience working the security accreditation of government computer systems
