Systems Manager - KMGH

McGraw-Hill Broadcasting Group owns and operates four ABC network-affiliated television stations: WRTV in Indianapolis, KGTV in San Diego, KMGH in Denver, and KERO in Bakersfield, California.
 
KMGH in Denver is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team. 
 
Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates with other Technology Specialists within KMGH-TV, Broadcasting and McGraw-Hill in support of IT systems at KMGH. 

  • Provides support for all Broadcast and Desktop applications within KMGH and Broadcasting. 

  • Leads Information Systems conversion and integration efforts for KMGH with McGraw-Hill. Duties include system level installation/administration/support for Active Directory, Network Security, WAN/LAN, and VPN;

  • System level installation/support for broadcast systems (Avid iNews, GV Ignite, GV NewsEdit, Harris Automation, Weather Central System, Wide Orbit Traffic);

  • Routine network activities to include server maintenance as well as backup and restore operations; User support for broadcast, business, internet, and news applications on the desktop and mobile devices.


  • Technical degree in Information Science, CS, Industry certifications, or equivalent skill gained through experience with 4+ years of experience in systems (hardware and software) support

  • IT Technology competencies to include LAN/Networking installation and configuration; Voice/Data Convergence Technologies, Video Conferencing Tools, Routers, Switches, Wireless topology, TCP/IP etc.

  • Broadcast Technology competencies to include video routing/switching, On-Air automation, Electronic Newsroom systems, Video Editing Systems, Graphic Art Systems, News Production Automation systems.

  • Has a clear perspective on product technology, integration and interconnectivity.

  • Strong analytical focus, results-oriented and execution driven, with the ability to align technology to create competitive advantages.

  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to identify learning opportunities, and improve current processes.

  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; able to create and maintain cross-division/segment relationships and foster collaboration.

  • Strong organizational skills are needed for the tasks at hand; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

This is a seven-day a week, twenty-four hour per day operation.  Irregular hours and scheduling can be expected.  Days off and job assignments will vary.
