Job Description:
The Exchange Administrator will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and operation of the Active Directory. The programmer will provide expertise on Active Directory integration. He/She will independently develop and lead a project to replace existing Active Directory domain controllers. The administrator will ensure compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as well as change management and security policies. The incumbent will assist with the support and operation of DNS, LDAP, and Meta directories. He/She will participate in the design and/or review of a distributed Microsoft Windows infrastructure. The administrator will provide top tier support administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting Exchange 2007, Windows 2003 Active Directory (AD) or greater and mail gateways in a distributed Exchange environment and ensure best practices are implemented. Managing and monitoring Windows OS servers and Microsoft systems is also included. He/She will also manage and troubleshoot Group Policy at all levels (local, OU, site, etc.).
The administrator will create and maintain documentation as it relates to systems design, systems configuration, testing and evaluation, and network configuration. They will also respond to server monitoring system alerts to evaluate and remedy identified problems. He/She will participate in the development, testing, and implementation of disaster recovery procedures for critical systems. The incumbent will evaluate, analyze and audit production systems processes and equipment, and help develop and implement solutions to aid with the continuity of operations. Participation in the identification of vulnerabilities and their mitigation is also a responsibility. The administrator will be expected to research, evaluate and recommend new technologies. Maintaining effective communications with vendors, peers and clients in support of assigned projects is also a part of this position. Finally, participating in the development of written project plans, task schedules, test and evaluation plans, and system design documents is required.
