About the Job

Background:

OTSO/DSPSM/NCMB is tasked with providing network capacity studies and sizing recommendations in support of SSANet’s Wide-Area Network (WAN) infrastructure.

Objective:

Conduct network capacity studies, analyzing the performance of SSANet’s infrastructure, ensuring existing capacity is adequately provisioned, and plan for anticipated business growth. Capacity studies routinely scrutinize historical network data from various data sources such as: NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer NetFlow data, SNMP MIB Collector (SMC), Online NW Database (OND), and the DITM Circuit Database. These various data sources allow SSA to see how much utilization bandwidth is being used, how applications are using bandwidth, as well as, who are using the applications and when. A network capacity management methodology is employed to provide optimal bandwidth recommendations assisting budget management and planning.
