Our client is a developer of award winning power systems solutions. We are seeking an exceptional engineer to join a key team providing advanced technical analysis, training, and support for power system planning, operation, and equipment related issues. We are looking for the right person with not only the right skill set but also someone committed to forwarding the growth of power engineering technology through study, preparing technical papers / presentations, and participating in professional organizations such as Cigre, IEEE, and the IEEE Power Engineering Society. Position Description Perform and/or lead power systems engineering studies and analysis in the general areas of electromagnetic transient phenomena, load flow, short circuit, transient stability, control design, equipment applications and other technical areas as needed. Prepare and present technical reports and presentations for all studies performed. Lead and/or assist in the preparation of proposals in response to customer specifications and technical information requests for power systems engineering analysis, system studies, and other technical projects. Requirements - Engineering degree: BSEE, MS/ME, or PhD (or equivalent) in EE with emphasis on electric power engineering.
- 5 to 15 years experience in lower code or equivalent position either in the power systems studies consulting field or in the electric utility system planning field or with T&D manufacturer’s application engineering groups.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electric power systems and equipment operation and control.
- Proficiency in the operation and implementation of the following programming and modeling tools:
- Electromagnetic transients type programs such as EMTP, ATP, EMTDC, or other similar programs
- Load flow, short circuit, and transient stability programs such as GE-PSLF, PSS/E, or other similar programs
- SPICE, MATLAB, MATHCAD, etc. and Internet related software (HTML and JAVA)
- Various word processors and spreadsheets including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
