Reporting into the Global Operations Director, this role will ensure that performance and availability of the workstation, server and network infrastructure globally is maintained to the highest standards, so that maximum productivity is achieved for the company and its customers, through quality systems administration and management techniques. You will be expected to provide hands-on technical support for company employees, with primary responsibility for the data center operations in the USA.


The successful candidate must be within 30-40 miles of Louisville, KY to maintain the date center when needed. When not at the data center, you will work from a home office. Must possess a minimum of 5 years system administration in a critical systems/service environment.


 


Job duties will include:





  • Taking primary responsibility for the data center operations in Louisville
  • Providing hands-on technical support for company employees
  • Manage relationships with IT suppliers
  • Day to day planning, monitoring, support and administration of systems within the Company
  • Managing and monitoring the infrastructure to maximize reliability and functionality
  • Utilising the company issue tracking system to log all support calls, project work and progress of IT incidents
  • Keep customers regularly apprised of progress on outstanding issues
  • Effective, accurate analysis and troubleshooting of problems through to resolution, ranging from major system crashes to a forgotten passwords
  • Undertaking project work to support implementation of new systems and technologies, both hardware and software
  • Managing email, anti spam and virus protection
  • Administration and support of the InterTel telephone system and Polycom Video conferencing system
  • Monitoring and reporting on network, systems usage and other key performance indicators
  • Monitoring the use of the web by employees
  • Ensuring data is backed up and suitably stored

  • Internet technologies, Apache, IIS, PHP, HTML, TWIKI


  • Inter-Tel VoIP phone systems


  • Polycom Video conferencing systems


  • Basic telecommunications (PBX, ISDN, T1, DSL etc)
