The Systems Support Technician is responsible for providing user support service for school administration and classrooms by performing first level PC maintenance and by troubleshooting network problems. Key Responsibilities - Coordinates all efforts at the school level to address and resolve technical and network issues.
- Interacts with Headquarters' Network Services, MIS, and/or third party service/warranty provider to restore service and correct core problems.
- Identifies, defines and categorizes network environment problems and makes recommendations to college Director on the repair or replacement of hardware.
- Provides technical/network support on the distribution of curriculum software images and on the upgrade and maintenance of application software.
- Stimulates or recreates user problems, as requested by Network Services, to help resolve operating difficulties.
- Performs application backups and prepares documentation to maintain application and curriculum software. -Manages user account and profiles.
- Frequent contact with students and school personnel to answer questions and resolving problems.
Required Skills:
- Associate degree in Computer Network Services Technology, Computer Services or related area from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education is required.
- At least one year of contiguous experience with a LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Windows and desktop applications required. Education/Experience equivalents will be considered.
- A+ certification preferred.
- Knowledge of network essentials and concepts.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to be able to provide training to end users.
- Ability to coordinate resources necessary to complete an assignment and/or resolve problems.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in identifying and troubleshooting problems associated with the network.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs frequently, and occasionally lift or move items weighing more than 50lbs.
