Seeking an experienced QA engineer to perform installation, testing, and diagnosis of robust 3-tiered custom developed software solutions in a UNIX / Oracle environment. Successful candidate will have strong testing, networking, database, and UNIX backgrounds, as well as excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills. Experience with protocol interfaces and OLTP systems is a plus.
Requirements:
QA / Testing:
- 8+ years software testing experience in a Test/QA organization.
- 4+ years experience working in UNIX platform environments.
- 4+ years database experience, preferably Oracle. Ability to script moderate-to-advanced SQL to verify test data a must.
- 2+ years work experience programming in UNIX shell and/or Perl.
- Ability to document test cases based on analysis of business requirements, technical requirements, and design documents.
- Ability to utilize test tools to perform manual and automated testing of API's, UI's, and reports.
- Ability to design test automation strategies and develop test automation solutions.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot application and environment issues a must.
- Ability to identify, diagnose, and clearly articulate software defects to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision to accomplish assigned tasks on schedule.
- Must effectively communicate testing status to management or team leads.
- Previous programming experience a plus.
- Ability to provide database maintenance (database refreshes, schema changes, etc) a plus.
Education:
B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
