DESCRIPTION:   This position will have the responsibility for setting Quality criteria for innovated/renovated products with special attention to microbiological safety and stability of products. Take full leadership responsibility for guaranteeing that product launches meet all quality, safety and other company criteria. Cooperate and communicate with relevant Production Technology Center and Research and Development groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sets quality criteria ( specifications ) for product innovation, with special attention to microbiological safety and stability of products.
  • Draws up test protocols for innovated / renovated products under development to ensure their food safety and quality.
  • Writes pre-HACCP and pre-QMS programs for innovated/renovated products.
  • Coaches and is present during factory trials for innovated/ renovated products

where important quality aspects play a role.

  • Takes full leadership in guaranteeing that a product launch meets all quality, safety and possible other company criteria; cooperates and communicates with relevant Production Technology Center or R&D groups.
  • Drives new technology until the moment it becomes process standard, then hands over responsibility to engineering and production teams.
  • Assesses, inspects and audits company co-packers on a regular basis to insure compliance with company requirements.

 REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • At least 7 to 10 years of successful high-speed Quality Assurance management experience in a mid-sized or large high-speed consumer food or beverage facility.
  • BS degree in Chemistry, Biology or Food Sciences. Masters preferred. Other technical degree may be considered.
  • Microbiology Laboratory management experience.
  • Knowledge of high-speed food or beverage production line and supply chain processes.                                                                       
  • Thorough knowledge of QA food/beverage sanitation and CIP processes and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of Statistical Process Control, HACCP and Quality Audit and Good Manufacturing Practice programs and procedures.
  • Proficiency in PC usage and in applicable software programs utilized to track, store and communicate critical data on Quality KRI’s.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership and analytical skills.
  • Approximate 50% travel required in the position.
