TAX DIRECTOR

LARGE, WELL KNOWN COMPANY IS SEARCHING FOR A TOP NOTCH TAX DIRECTOR

 

SUMMARY

Manage the tax function and processes within the organization.  Manage and direct all tax resources, and oversee all tax accounts, operations and compliance for the Company.

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

§          Provide general tax planning and strategy. 

 

§          Prepare and manage a comprehensive calendar for all tax events, and all types of taxes, e.g. federal, state, local, sales and use, franchise, business privilege, gross receipts, personal property, real estate, occupational license, etc. 

 

§          Prepare accurate, well documented, GAAP compliant FAS 109 calculations and accruals. 

 

§          Prepare and revise processes and procedures to support strong internal controls within the Tax function. 

 

§          Coordinate and ensure satisfactory tax audits (internal, external taxing authorities etc.), and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance.

 

  • Provide tax diligence, guidance and advice on deals, i.e. M&As, Business Combinations, Investments, and Divestitures. 

 Manage and direct all resources, consultants, and outsourced aspects of the tax function.

 

§          Manage compliance and timely and accurate returns preparation for all types of taxes in all jurisdictions.

 

§          Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate payment of all tax liabilities. 

 

§          Timely respond to all tax notices. 

 

§          Thoroughly analyze all tax accounts, prepare and retain supporting documentation, and prepare necessary reconciliations and roll forwards.  

  

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s  degree (B. S.) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college; CPA certification; minimum seven year’s related experience in the tax function, public accounting experience a plus.
