Technical Call Center Support Representative


Hauppauge, New York


 


A respected and well-recognized distributor in the optical industry, has an exciting opportunity in our Long Island headquarters for an energetic, outgoing and motivated Technical Support Representative to respond to product and operational support calls in a call center environment. 


 


The ideal candidate should derive personal and professional satisfaction by providing solutions to problems while ensuring a high level of overall customer service/satisfaction.  Position requires some travel and prior experience in a Client Service environment.


 


Some essential job functions will include the following:  


 



  • Identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve customer/equipment issues in a pleasant, professional and timely manner to internal and external (sales/field service) clients
  • Provide component replacement via telephone
  • Provide occasional local on-site product support.
  • Record customer interactions and problem data accurately

 


Experience:



  • A proven proficiency in client problem resolution, excellent communication and interpersonal skills required

 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Experienced customer service skills including: Active listening to understand customer’s issue, good communication with internal/external customers and the ability to work effectively with difficult customers
  • Working knowledge of Great Plains / Microsoft Dynamics software desired.


  • Strong PC skills with knowledge of MS office required (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Excellent organizational, time management, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Problem solver with strong positive can-do attitude and outgoing professional personality.
