LEADING SUPPLIER OF MARINE, OFFSHORE, & MARITIME CABLE PRODUCTS SEEKS A DYNAMIC TECHNICAL SALES EXECUTIVE WITH KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE IN THE COMMERCIALIZATION AND SALE OF WIRE & CABLE FOR  MARINE & MARITIME APPLICATIONS, OFFSHORE OIL & GAS INDUSTRY APPLICATION, AS WELL AS FOR VESSEL / SHIPBOARD POWER, CONTROL & INSTRUMENTATION USE.

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR GENERATING NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES AND CAPITALIZING ON EXISTING CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS TO MARKET AND SELL A FULL RANGE OF CABLE PRODUCTS WITHIN THE NORTHERN COASTAL REGION.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Extend the product range usage across the existing customer base
· Identify and target new business opportunities
· Regular, scheduled contact across the customer base to build robust, long term customer relationships
· Proactive handling of day to day inquiries to ensure maximum customer satisfaction with Company products and processes
· Organize and provide appropriate levels training to users of company product
· Liaise with the Customer Support to ensure highest levels of engineering field support
· Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with the Engineering function to provide customer feedback on current and future designs.
· Provide regular reports of sales activity, active inquiries, competitor intelligence and market trends
· Update the client database system to allow group review of current opportunities
· Develop and enhance a network of industry contacts to assist in the facilitation of new business opportunities, gather market data, and disseminate positive information regarding the Company.
· Active participation at informal and formal public events, industry meetings, engineering forums, and conferences to raise the profile and awareness of the Company across the potential marketplace
· Contribute as part of the team to the overall development and direction of Regional business
· Take shared responsibility with the Company to maintain and increase personal knowledge, skills and expertise of company processes and procedures, organizational structure and responsibilities, product details and applications and any other identifiable development areas directly impacting performance in the role.
· Travel within the North Western Region as required

REQUIREMENTS:

Background:
· Technical / Engineering degree (Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Physics, Marine Technology, Petroleum Technology, etc)
· 5+ years of proven technical sales knowledge and experience in cable, electrical products for use in marine, maritime, offshore / subsea oil & gas, ships, platforms,  vessels, etc. with industry knowledge and contacts.
· Offshore Oil and Gas Industry awareness (business awareness, market understanding, terminology, processes, etc)
· Knowledge and understanding of product applications
· Technical understanding to translate customer technical needs and match them to company product applications

Technical:
· Technical background with proven sales skills and electrical / electro-mechanical aptitude
· Desired knowledge and/or familiarity with any of the following: cable properties (grounding, braiding, armour, etc), cable solutions, navigation related devices such as switchboards, panels, power & control units, instrumentation, & navigation systems.  

Commercial:
· Able to compose quotations and generate correspondence to customers, end users, and reps that conforms to prescribed style and format.
· Efficient negotiation skills and proven ability to drive sales to closure
· Strong territorial management skills.
· Must be experienced in forecasting, budgeting, planning, and developing a territory with little supervision.
· Able to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for commercial purposes

· Able to respond to common inquiries from customers, agencies, or members of the business community and be a strong problem solver.

Communication:
· Excellent written and verbal communications in English is essential
· Good phone and interactive skills
· Spanish speaking abilities always helpful

Other:
· Computer literate and experienced with Microsoft Office programs and sales CRM database / client contact programs.
· Good driving record.
· Ability to travel outside the Houston base area.
· Stable employment record
· Professional presence and demeanor
