Provides support for the FAA National Flight Procedures Group (AJW-32).
Provide technical expertise to the National Flight Procedures office and Service Area Flight Procedures Branches on the concepts and principles contained in FAA Order 8260.3B Terminal Instrument Procedures Development, FAA Order 8260.19C Flight Procedures and Airspace, and other applicable Orders and Directives that pertain to Terminal Instrument Procedures (TERPS).
Primary duties will involve a wide range of functions from the review, evaluation, and revision ofcurrent and new FAA En Route Airway charts. The charts will be evaluated for any performance limitations, interference from physical obstructions, controlled airspace, and communications with respect to applicable FAA regulations, standards, and criteria.
Evaluate the effect of proposed obstructions, altered or de-activated airports, NAVAID outages, and revisions to controlled airspace as they affect instrument flight procedures.
Coordinate as necessary with FAA Technical Operations, Air Traffic, Regional and field FAA offices, National Flight Data Center, military and airline representatives, state and local aviation officials, and aircraft and airport operators.
Qualifications:
5 years experience in aviation policies, procedures, or management in any of the following:
Air Traffic Control
Commercial Instrument Rated Piloting
Certified Flight Instruction
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with studies in an Aeronautics, Aviation, or Air Traffic Control career field.
Two additional years of work experience in FAA Flight Procedures, Air Traffic Control, Airport Management, or as a Certified Flight Instructor could be substituted for the Associates degree.
