Job Title: TPM Analyst

 

I. Position Summary

This position administers, creates, analyzes, and internally and externally reports all of the sites continuous improvement Manufacturing metrics, (Production, Demand, Quality, Safety, Cost, Morale) and related Total Productive Manufacturing, (TPM), data including losses, capacity utilization, Pillar and Business Unit KPI’s and process metrics, self assessments and audit results.

 

This position administers the site’s loss collection databases and spreadsheets, etc. This position creates, updates and maintains plant TPM processes, programs and documentation in accordance with Unilever standards.

 

This individual is responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate completion of all TPM data analyses and the reports associated with the analyses. This individual will generate new reports and analyses as needed and requested by the various site functional areas.

 

This individual will work with site TPM Office co-workers, TPM Pillars, and business units to develop world class TPM processes. This person will maintain effective communications and network with external TPM specialists including but not limited to: Unilever Corporate, Global and Regional TPM practitioners, and identified external TPM consultants.

It is imperative that individuals in this job demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to TPM principles and a proactive approach to all aspects of TPM.

Job is based on B shift, but will require flexibility to work any shift as needed to support TPM activities. Occasional travel will be required.

 

Il. Position Responsibilities (Expected Work)

Incumbents are required to perform functions as assigned.)

1. Master and administer the site loss data collection database, scorecards, spreadsheets, etc.

2. Provide analysis of the site’s TPM data as requested.

3. Create new data collection venues and provide analysis of that data via formal and informal reports.

4. Provide timely reporting both internally and externally of results and analysis to appropriate recipients

5. Core member of the TPM Steering Committee.

 

Ill. Challenges

1. Typical challenges: a)Developing view of site metrics/ KPI’s in format and perspective to influence appropriate decisions b) Growing demand for more data and analysis of the data to drive factory operation c) in influencing others to drive improvement d) maintain integrity and accuracy of data and analysis in environment of multiple inputs and end users

2. Influence site to make data driven decisions, resisting historical intuitive only decisions

3. High volume of change and complex factory agenda

4. Lead and reinforce TPM related discussions with hourly and management teammates to facilitate and promote change as a necessary element of business.

5. Timely and accurate issuance of TPM scorecards, Self Assessments, reports, audits, etc.

 

V. Skills & Competencies

Knowledge: Secondary education preferred.

Specific Training TPM or related continuous improvement Experience Preferred in a manufacturing setting

Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Factory Database Administration. Ie. Maintenance and Manufacturing Loss databases, experience with regression curves and data analysis and communication techniques.

 

Experience 3-5 years manufacturing experience

Problem Solving Skills Strong ability to gather and analyze data. Must have strong data interpretation skills and ability to transpose data into usable information and understanding for others.

 

Computer Skills Excellent computer and analytical skills. Utilize computer software (Informance, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, CMMS and Purchasing systems, Visio, etc.) to communicate, analyze, and document TPM metrics.

 

Communication Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills used in presentation of data and reports and information transference to all levels of Unilever and external colleagues. Accurately interpret written and oral instructions and follow systematic instructions. Include relationship skills examples through communication.

 

Presentation Skills Superior facilitation, organizational, and presentation/delivery skills. Ability to clearly explain data and analysis to others.

Interpersonal Skills Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.

Interact effectively with all organizational levels including TPM staff at other Unilever sites, TPM professionals, consultants and suppliers. Motivate, energize, and foster team activities and relationships. Ability to resolve conflict. Ability to lead teams and projects.
