  Position: Task Order / Project Manager

AECOM Government Services is currently seeking candidates for key positions supporting the Africa Peacekeeping Program which provides training and advisory services, equipment procurement, logistical support services, and construction services to Sub-Saharan African countries.

The Africa Peacekeeping Program covers much of the security assistance work being requested throughout the continent of Africa. The program enhances African countries ability to conduct peacekeeping operations and builds African capacities for crisis management and counter terrorism. One of the program’s key objectives is regional peace and stability. The Department of State (DOS) uses its peacekeeping operations (PKO) funds to advance that goal by undertaking training of armed forces, enhancing their ability to deploy by land, air and sea. 

Work will be with regional organizations to enhance their abilities to prevent, manage, and resolve conflict and supporting peacekeeping and peace building operations. The program encompasses logistics support, construction, military training and advising, maritime security capacity building, equipment procurement, operational deployment for peacekeeping troops, aerial surveillance and conference facilitation. There will be a wide range of diverse projects, including setting up operational bases to support peacekeeping operations in hostile environments, military training and to providing a range of technical assistance and equipment for African militaries and peace support operations. These tasks will be implemented in countries throughout the African continent, as designated by the DOS, the Special Envoy for Sudan, and in conjunction with specific DOS programs and policies.

Job Description:

The Task Order / Project Manager shall report to the Program Manager, and will bear responsibility for ensuring that all work required in the Task Order is performed satisfactorily and all terms and conditions of this order are met. The Task Order / Project Manager shall serve as the Program Manager’s primary point of contact for all technical matters pertaining to this order. The Task Order / Project Manager will direct all aspects of services that allow the organizations to operate efficiently. He or she will perform a broad range of duties – and will bear responsibility in managing ANY sub-contractor’s performance. They might, oversee secretarial and reception services, training and advisory classroom instruction, administration, construction management, payroll, conference planning and travel. They will be responsible for the Task Order’s records management, telecommunications management, security, and personal property procurement, and supply. They will develop section lead plans, set goals and deadlines, implement procedures to improve productivity and especially customer service. Some mid-level administrative services managers oversee first-line supervisors from various departments, including the clerical staff. Responsible for counseling and day to day functioning of project employees

 Job Qualifications:

 Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of college course work leading to an advanced degree, preferred. with a, minimum of 3 to five years of increasingly responsible experience. Preferably an individual with military experience at 0-4, O-5 level. Individual must have experience operating in areas with limited life cycle support and in hardship conditions. Having worked in Africa and with Department of State is a plus, but not required.
