With minimal supervision, prepares, analyzes, and/or reviews tax reports and tax return filings (federal, state or local).
Prepares and/or reviews local, state, and federal tax returns, as well as financial and management reports.
Prepares, maintains, and analyzes tax records and reports, subject to review.
Researches more complex tax issues, analyzes applicable tax laws and documents conclusions.
Uses computer systems and/or reporting tools to input, retrieve, or summarize tax information.
Performs moderately complex tasks under general supervision using analytical skills and ingenuity.
There are currently 3 openings in this department. The candidates will be hired as a Tax Accountant II, Sr. Tax Accountant, or a Tax Manager based upon qualifications, skills, and organizational needs. Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting, or equivalent experience. Generally 2-5 years of professional experience in tax, accounting, or comparable area.

The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $64,000 .

AEGON USA's Corporate Tax Department is looking for an experienced full-time tax accountant. The position will provide the qualified candidate with the opportunity to continue to enhance their professional development in a team environment while having the ability to gain knowledge and experience with numerous individuals on our team both within the tax department and with the larger organization. The primary responsibilities of the tax department include:
Federal, state, and local income and premium tax return preparation and review for both insurance and non-insurance companies,
Computation and reconciliation of tax effects from our diversified investment portfolio,
Research and analysis of transactions from both tax and non-tax planning perspectives,
Computation of quarterly current and deferred taxes for financial statement accounting, under GAAP, IFRS, Statutory, and Market Consistent methods of accounting,
Involvement in and leadership of entity wide initiatives related to capital planning and mergers and acquisitions, and
Consulting and planning with our various business units to help improve AEGON's after-tax results.
