Description

The key to appropriately managing a company's overall state and local tax cost is to align its tax strategies with its business initiatives and then proceed with assisting the company with implementation. Ernst & Young's State & Local Tax practice provides the knowledge, experience, resources, and processes to bridge the gap between what is expected of a company's tax department and its current capacity. In addition to having depth of technical knowledge and experience, our professionals are knowledgeable about the business challenges companies are facing and how those challenges affect a company's state and local tax position. Our national network of practitioners focuses on both direct and indirect state and local taxes by offering a broad array of services.
We currently have career opportunities for a State & Local Tax Staff professional, specializing in Property Tax compliance, to manage multiple and challenging commercial real and personal property tax compliance projects and to contribute to the delivery for our diverse clients. This position offers excellent opportunities for teaming, leadership, and career advancement for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Contribute to client satisfaction by providing timely and effective responses to client needs and concerns. Develop and deliver timely and high-quality services and work products. Research complex tax issues and develop quality, practical tax approaches. Participate in client meetings and work within a team environment to deliver fully integrated services to clients.
Demonstrate an understanding of basic commercial real and personal property tax concepts and actively pursue increased tax knowledge through client assignments and current tax developments.

To qualify, candidates must have:
  • a bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting, finance, economics or a related field; an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable
  • a minimum of 1 year of state and local property tax compliance experience
  • strong analytical skills
  • excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal abilities
  • demonstrated ability to coordinate & manage projects
  • familiarity with PTMS, or related property tax compliance program - a definite plus
