Tax Manager

 

The Wilson Group is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead the tax efforts of a complex and dynamic retail organization with annual sales in excess of a billion dollars.

The role you will play:

  • Preparation and review of tax returns and related schedules
  • Preparation of complex analyses and reconciliations
  • Evaluating initiatives and presenting the tax implications; develop strategies and requirements as necessary.
  • High visibility; requires extensive interaction with all business units
  • Research tax issues & ensure compliance
  • Management of property taxes, excise taxes, and assets
  • Supervise and direct tax department

Background profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; advanced degree in taxation is a plus
  • CPA with big 4 experience preferred
  • Seven to Ten years of progressive federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting; a combination of corporate and public accounting experience is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of FASB 13
  • Strong computer skills in a variety of software to include MS Office (Word/Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
  • Experienced in multi-state tax (knowledge of composite tax states)
  • Taxable income forecasting experience
  • Experience in Corporate, S-Corp. and/or Partnership returns
  • Excellent analytical, technical and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns and combined state tax returns.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to provide strong individual contribution as a constructive member of the company team
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate department members
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Must work well within cross functional teams
