Needel, Welch & Stone, P.C. is a 25-person accounting firm conveniently located off Route 3 in Rockland, MA serving clients throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod.  Our client base includes companies in industries that include manufacturing, construction, real estate, professional services, retail, wholesale and not-for profit.  As a mid-sized organization, we are uniquely positioned for continual growth and are committed to employing and retaining highly motivated and bright individuals and providing a full range of outstanding services to our clients.

A successful candidate should possess expertise in corporate, fiduciary, estate, partnership and multi-state disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance services in a timely and effective manner
• Manage and drive the success of multiple engagements in all facets of taxation
• Provide primary and secondary review of complex tax returns for corporate, partnership, fiduciary and individual clients
• Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing expectations, meeting deadlines and proactively sharing tax saving strategies
• Work closely with partners and staff on client management, professional development and business development activities
• Manage, develop, train and mentor staff including performance and engagement reviews
• Attend professional development and continuing educations sessions on a regular basis

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting required
• Masters in Taxation degree required
• CPA certification required with 6+ years tax experience and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.

• Strong technical skills relating to tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax research

• Ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically
• A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines
• Outstanding leadership, mentoring and interpersonal skills fostering client and staff relationships
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationships
