
Team Leader-Utilities

The primary role of the Utilities Team Leader is to lead and take overall responsibility for QSCSP (Quality, Safety Cost, Speed, and People) performance, asset integrity, budget and cost management, and adherence to policies and procedures for, primarily, a single shift in Utilities and WWTP area.
Advanced knowledge of accepted practices and procedures associated with the various processes.
Good understanding of maintenance concepts for installed equipment including maintenance routines and practices.
Ability to analyze production reports and QS data to recognize adverse trends.
General understanding of the practices associated with the development and administration of union contracts.
Good communication/interpersonal skills and managerial ability to directly manage hourly personnel, while providing for their technical training and personal development.
Demonstrated understanding of the concepts of manufacturing such as JIT, World Class
Manufacturing, TQA, etc., and be able to establish and implement plans for changing workplace strategies adopted by the company in pursuit of its' business needs.
Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EEO practices/policies, BATF regulations, plant safety regulations, FDA guidelines for food plant operations, and environmental regulations regarding manufacturing brewery operations.
Ability to apply root-cause and problem solving skills at all levels.
Ability to set priorities and provide appropriate structure to problems/issues.
Minimum of a 4 year technical degree or appropriate technical experience. Prior experience in manufacturing operations management preferred.
Utilities technical requirements:
Coal and oil fired boiler operations and maintenance; ammonia refrigeration operations and maintenance; Compressed air systems operations and maintenance; CO2 systems operations and maintenance; Plant and process water systems operations and maintenance; Waste water treatment systems operations and maintenance; Power distribution and generating systems.
The successful candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, challenge the status quo, and function well within a team environment. Solid communication skills and the potential to deal with all levels of plant and corporate personnel. Ability to build cooperative and collaborative working relationships among the work group. Ability to evaluate situations and to take responsibility for the decision making process. Understanding of business processes, financial indicators, and the budgeting process.
