Robertson Geologging (USA) Inc. is seeking qualified technical support engineer to undertake training, commissioning and maintenance of geophysical equipment. Based in our small sales/support office in Houston, the engineer will service the needs of our North and South American clients. The candidate may be required to travel, often at short notice, visiting job sites to provide technical support and client training on our wide range of borehole logging instrumentation.
The successful candidate will have a strong practical electronic and/or mechanical background and a qualification. An interest in geology/geophysics would be a benefit. They will be resourceful and able to work independently and to solve problems in the field. They will need an outgoing personality, ability to adapt easily to different cultures and backgrounds and a good sense of humour. The job involves overseas travel for around 6-10 weeks a year with typical trips lasting one to two weeks. In between trips, the work will involve testing and repairing equipment, preparing equipment for rentals, and providing telephone support to clients from our base. A knowledge of Spanish would also be helpful, but not essential.
Initial training for 4-6 weeks will be given at our headquarters in the United Kingdom. Annual refresher courses will also take place in the United Kingdom or elsewhere.
The opportunity for International travel outside North and South America is an option for the right candidate.
