 This is located in Columbus GA so you must be willing to relocate at your own expense and be available to interview in person at your own expense. Highly prefer local candidates.

Job description:

This is a true Technical BA role. Will be writing very specific technical specs and ideally come from a hands on technical background. Need to truly understand SOA, web interfaces, web services, web services calls, databases, database schemas. The will be creating entire packages for each project, which will include use cases, test cases, very detailed documentation, show screens, detailed work flows, database design, web services...all of those technical pieces must be included in the documents which are handed to the developers. Use Visio for workflows and Word for documentation. Need to have very solid SOA understanding. 

6 month contract, but it will most likely be 9-12 months. 

Resources in a Technical Analyst role serve as the conduit between the business analyst community and the software development team for development of technical specifications. Technical Analysts obtain IT project requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, proof of concepts and/or viewpoints. Technical Analysts write IT project technical specifications clearly, unambiguously, and concisely. Technical Analysts decompose high-level business, user and functional requirements (The What) into IT project technical requirements (The How).

Technical Analysts participate in the prioritization of requirements. They manage requirements traceability and track requirements status throughout the project. They manage changes to baseline requirements through effective application of change control processes. Technical Analysts work independently under minimal supervision. Technical Analysts can supervise, guide, direct, mentor team members, and serves as a system expert. The Technical Analyst is responsible to management and clients to meet business objectives and resolve business system problems. Formulates/defines scope and objectives for a system, while considering computer equipment capacity limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Has the ability to adapt quickly to different programming languages, file structures, and hardware platforms. Operates under demanding deadlines, and readily accepts extreme workloads as required.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Independently completes tasks and projects in an accurate and timely manner.

Adheres to department practices, standards, policies, procedures and methodologies.

As a system expert, serves as a technical consultant to internal and external customers.

Provides written technical specifications to meet project or product requirements.

Assumes responsibility for maintaining system integrity across all functional areas. 

Adheres to current system architectural design and concepts as they relate to programming technologies and data structures.

Maintains a working knowledge of functional changes to the system and updates related technical documentation.

Analyzes existing systems for optimal performance and makes recommendations as required.

Minimum Education or General Experience:

Bachelors Degree in a technical or related discipline plus three (3) to five (5) years of experience in requirements analysis or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Must have strong interviewing and facilitation skills.

Must have an understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management methodologies and the ability to apply them in practice.

Strong organizational and effective oral and written communication skills are essential elements of this position.

Specific experience may include familiarity with modern software development lifecycle methodologies and be familiar with use cases and other documentation such as user interface mockups, data structure diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, object diagrams, timing diagrams, and other UML artifacts.
