Data Modeler

Job Summary:

The position requires data modeling (including dimensional modeling) and business analysis background. The individual will be expected to work closely with the systems analysts and business partners to understand the data relationships for the required elements. Data profiling will be required to verify the element domain. The output of the process will be a dimensional (star schema) model, however, a logical model showing data relationships and hierarchies will be a key milestone deliverable.

Data Modeler

The duties will include;

1.       Work with business areas and System Analysts to understand and document the key relationships and hierarchies in the data

2.       Create Logical (normalized) Dimensional model

3.       Collect metadata on tables and elements (documented from existing dictionaries and information collated through analysis) in standard templates

4.       Work with Data Stewards/Metadata collection teams to validate/correct/extend gathered metadata

5.       Document data quality issues identified during profiling and co-ordinate with Data Quality team

6.       Create Physical Dimensional model

7.       Work with Dev DBA team on Physical implementation (Creation of indices, Snapshot vs. Temporal Partitioning etc)

Mortgage banking experience, SQL Server a plus.
