
Long established professional services firm in the DC area is looking for TECHNICAL ARCHITECT to join their team.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Architect will assist the CLIENTnet Systems Software Development Director with the technical management and direction of software development activities including the overall design of new software components, the implementation of industry best practices and standards, the establishment of priorities and the delivery of software products and solutions. The Architect will have a strong background in .NET application design and development. This position is responsible for the design and architecture of high-traffic, customer-facing middleware applications as well as support for the CLIENTnet Systems Support department. This is a hands-on technical position with significant coding responsibilities during project execution phase. In addition to assisting in the technical direction enterprise-wide application development, the Principal Engineer Architect will also work closely with the Enterprise Architecture Department and the Infrastructure Department to help determine and shape the technology direction of the entire organization.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUITRMENTS:
Transforms detailed requirements into detailed systems design documents. Designs long-term, reliable, and adaptive technical architectures.
Serves as a technical gateway between Project Management and the developers. Provides strategic thinking, solutions and roadmaps while driving architectural recommendations
Ensures architectural adherence through blueprint and design reviews
Assists in the remediation of application stability and performance
Adopts and communicate new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices and technology assistance
Performs project level design, debug and performance analysis
Works closely with middleware engineers, monitoring and management professionals to design, enhance, maintain, extend, configure, test and support a variety of middleware systems, tools, and libraries
Support transition of product maintenance into CLIENTnet Systems support group after product goes live.
Experience leveraging open source development tools
Extensive experience with design patterns, system architectural concepts and frameworks
Middleware technology and understanding of application integration
Technical expertise in high performance website systems, web services, in a .Net/IIS environment, and performance tuning/scaling of such systems
Extensive experience designing and/or developing solutions using common integration patterns
Strong Server side development skills
Experience designing and developing high traffic / customer facing web applications in a fast paced environment
Experience with Agile Development / Scrum Methodologies.
Experience with automated unit tests, integration tests and continuous integration.
UML experience
Strong communication skills, in both technical and business terms
Any Microsoft or similar developer certifications will be a plus
