1st Choice Staffing is seeking a qualified Technical Writer and Editor

 

Job Description:

  • The Technical Writer must possess:

    Excellent understanding of communications. Ability to communicate to the general public and the client a complex story through plain language is a critical element as are superb organizational and time management skills; ability to achieve results in adverse situations; develops solutions through out-of-the-box strategic thinking.

    Minimum of a bachelors degree in English or related discipline.

    Must have a minimum of three (3) years successful working experience in writing,

    proofreading, and editing government or other types of documents for clarity of

    expression, orderly composition, and use of English language.

    Experience using MS Word, Outlook, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft

    applications.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Composes and edits written correspondence, reports, briefing papers, articles, press

    releases, communications plans, and other documents. Presents a unified and consistent tone and message in all communications vehicles.

    Works closely with the appropriate program staff and conducts research to ensure that the content is technically correct and aligned with Department and Administration goals and objectives.

    Drafts full-text scripts for PowerPoint presentations and other formal remarks to the

    appropriate audience. Also provides guidance in presentation skills.

    Develops outreach material for the client and other transportation

    constituents in response to telephone or personal requests.

    Represents the client on various agency initiatives and working groups, such as the Regulations Team. The Regulations Team is assisting the client in both internal and external communications, image branding, and advising on organizational processes.

    Communicate effectively and professionally to government officials, university

    researchers, industry representatives, and the general public at all levels.

     

 

Work Hours: One (1) year contract; Eight (8) hour shift between the hours of 6 a.m. -6 p.m. five (5)days a week

 

Holidays: 2 weeks vacation and 10 Federal paid holidays
