Plans, organizes, writes, edits and formats technical manuals and other related publications concerned with the operation and maintenance of systems delivered by the organization. Acquires and organizes basic source material including applicable specifications, engineering write-ups and drawing packages. Interfaces with engineering staff to research and interpret engineering schematics, technical design specifications, interface designs, design diagrams, and tests.
Bachelor degree and 3 years of editing experience required. Editing skills should include excellent copy editing and proofreading skills; good eye for grammar, punctuation, and spelling; substantive editing experience; ability to analyze and question someone else’s writing to make it more easily understood for a particular audience. Computer skills should include extensive experience with MS Word and “track-changes” feature of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and familiarity with database systems, and Adobe Photoshop.
