Technical Knowledge Center Associate
Appleton creates product solutions through its development and use of coating formulations, coating applications and encapsulation technology. Expected Results:
- Develop, manage and maintain corporate library to provide business information and intelligence that aids internal customers in meeting business objectives.
- Support a culture of quality library tools and services that facilitate improved efficiency in job functions.
- Responsible for creating a knowledge sharing environment to enable broader capture and sharing of ideas and information to promote innovation and learning.
Supporting Activities:
- Develops and manages convenient, accessible and cost-effective information services that are aligned with the strategic direction.
- Identify and leverage information technologies and informal networks to share new ideas and best practices which can benefit the organization.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge management storage guidance and information architecture which can be applied across all technology platforms.
- Manage technical/laboratory notebooks and reports distribution, retrieval and archiving.
- Support business units and researchers with secondary reports, studies and information as requested.
- Provide manual and on-line searches to support company-wide functions.
- Provide instruction and support for library and information service users.
- Manages archiving processes to ensure data archiving and knowledge transfer. Assists in identifying material critical for archiving.
- Establish relationships at all levels and across department functional lines to achieve optimum results.
Prior Accomplishments, Experience and Skills:
- B.A. or B.S. in technology, library science, management, or related discipline. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years experience in a technical information center or library environment. Experience should include developing and delivering change management and knowledge management programs.
- Experience with analysis and synthesis of search results and customized delivery in a corporate environment a plus.
- Strong knowledge of records retention, storage and management.
- Proven ability to complete work with thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Committed, responsible, and able to work in a team or individually.
- Experience in establishing effective partnerships within and outside of the organization.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
