Faegre & Benson LLP is seeking a Technical Lead/Application Architect to join our Application Services department. We are looking for an individual to provide strong leadership and deep expertise in Microsoft technologies including Visual Studio .NET, Visual Studio Team System, SharePoint, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services and Visual Studio Tools for Office.

Responsibilities of the position are to lead the Application Development team in the construction, technical documentation and maintenance of applications, to mentor team members and promote rigorous architectural techniques and programming methodologies, to work hands-on with the development team on the coding, testing, debugging, maintenance and documentation of applications under the same standards, practices and conditions defined for the team, and to understand the functional requirements for each project and turn them into precise, buildable technical specifications.

Requirements include a BA degree, preferably in computer science or a related field, 5+ years experience developing applications in a technical lead role, expert technical skills that include application architecture, current programming methodologies and tools (especially those used in Microsoft .Net development and SharePoint), application integration and customization, user interface design, database theory, software design patterns and object oriented programming.  Experience with applications common to law firms is a plus, including document management systems, time-and-billing systems, or document assembly applications.
