FMC’s Biopolymer Division is currently seeking an energetic Technical Manager to be an essential part of our Business Team. The successful individual will lead the organization in technology advances to maintain FMC BioPolymer Rockland’s competitive advantages in the industry. This position is located in a production facility on the beautiful coast of Rockland, Maine.
The Technical Manager will be charged with maintaining a specific focus on Continuous Improvement in Process methodologies and obtaining overall efficiency with in-house and acquired equipment at our Rockland, Maine Manufacturing Facility. This individual will also participate as a key member of the Rockland site management team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a drive for results who is very motivated to get into a plant leadership team role within a successful organization. Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years experience in chemical manufacturing plant environment required.
• Prior experience with manufacturing carrageenan/alginates a strong plus.
• Prior leadership/management experience and a demonstrated ability to supervise highly independent professionals to achieve maximum results required.
• Proven ability to act proactively, overcoming technical and resource barriers and drive projects to completion on schedule and budget using available resources.
• Strong emphasis on having a demonstrated and successful record of the use of Lean Principles, Six Sigma, or other similar processes.
• Basic knowledge of business finance through MBA degree or equivalent combination of course work and experience.
Education:
BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
