General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS) has an immediate opening for a Manager to lead team of Systems Engineers. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense services and systems. GDAIS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out critical national security missions supporting intelligence collection, processing and dissemination.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design, test, and manage various GDAIS and client technologies. Key Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer Technical Manager will lead a team that analyzes, designs, develops and tests GDAIS systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Additional responsibilities include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis; selecting systems architecture; and preparing specifications for GDAIS operating systems to ensure designs meet applicable security specifications. These individuals may also be asked to document security on both new and fielded information systems or provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly.


The Technical Manager will manage between 10 and 20 direct reports, which includes ensuring programs are adequately staffed, perform performance evaluations, executing career development planning, and identifying training opportunities for staff development.  The Technical Manager will work directly on program activities, including planning and executing technical tasks on programs and ensuring quality, on time technical deliveries.

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance GDAIS technology.


The Systems Engineer Technical Manager position requires a bachelor’s degree in a specialized area, field or the equivalent and at least two to four years of management experience in a related field or demonstrated leadership to meet the managerial expectations. 


Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Candidates are required to have demonstrated experience in requirements management, service decomposition, and program leadership.  Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience working in the full System Development Life Cycle, including full requirements traceability through verification
