Senior Software Developer

POSITION DESCRIPTION
• Responsible for designing and developing Internet based applications.

• Responsible for troubleshooting code defects with existing production

• Work will generally occur under the guidance of a lead development or project manager.

• Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and modifying software systems including coding, testing, debugging, and documenting systems.

• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish complicated tasks.

• Understand and follow software development process and software development life cycle.

• Exhibit strong leadership & communication skills to facilitate interaction with business leaders and IT teams.

• Support production systems, analyze and solve problems, and configure systems within the computing environment.

• Design, execute, assess, and troubleshoot software programs and applications.

• Lead in program design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation under general supervision.

• Instruct, direct, and validate other software developers' work.

• Mentor and guide application developers and junior team members as needed.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 7 years of software development experience with 3 of those years spent designing and developing in an enterprise application development and support environment.

• Previous senior-level experience in designing and developing Internet e-commerce systems.

• Experienced ASP.NET and C# developer is an absolute must.

• Experienced in .Net web service technologies.

• Strong web UI design and development experience

• Strong integration design and development experience.

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

• Experience in designing and developing solutions for high volume systems.

• In depth understanding of object-oriented programming, software development life cycle.

• In depth understanding of relational database concepts and programming

• Strong understanding of enterprise application architectural design patterns and be able to give examples of solutions utilizing any number of those patterns.

• Strong analysis, design, and development skills.

• Strong MS SQL Server experience, including writing stored procedures, triggers, and database design

DESIRED (BUT NOT REQUIRED) TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
• Experience with Ruby.

• Experience with Java.

• Experience with SSRS.

• Experience with Erlang, Node, and JavaScript frameworks.

• Experience with Redis, CouchDb, RavenDb, Riak, or other NoSQL data store.

• Experience with RabbitMQ or other messaging system.

• Experience with other languages including Ruby, Python, and C.

• Strong understand of Functional Programming concepts.

• Strong understanding CQRS.

• Strong understanding of message based architectures.

• Possess advanced written and oral communication skills for producing software design specifications and conducting requirements definition sessions with customers.

• Provide professional, clear, unambiguous, and complete written and verbal communication such that the intended audience receives information correctly.

• Demonstrate the ability to present information effectively in communications with peers and senior project management.

• Identify and collaborate with all necessary stakeholders in order to come to terms or reach agreement in accordance with defined project goals with little to no assistance.

EDUCATION
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
