JOB DESCRIPTION - Technical Sales Manager

Note: Must have Point of Sale - Credit Card Processing Experience

The Technology Sales Manager provides technical and consultative leadership for client solutions opportunities. Defines account and/or territory potential revenue and deploys technical sales resources to capitalize on greatest opportunities. 

Responsible for the recruiting, training, management, development, and ongoing performance management of the technical sales enablement team
Collaborates with Sales, CS, Partners and other groups to promote revenue potential. Collaborates with practice and pool leaders to bring the most skilled technical resources to accounts during the presales process and guides presales technical activities within account

 

For this position, the Sales Engineer will need the following skills:

1. Responsible for working directly with  sales personnel and customers to sell the EMC Secure Solution.
2. Be involved in meetings, technical discussions, development of technical sales tools, and initial discovery/scoping of customer integration activities.
3. Need retail information systems background, with an emphasis on Point of Sale systems.
4. Some security experience is also highly preferred. SE experience also highly preferred.

ADDITION BACKGROUND

Provides technical expertise in support of pre-sales activities in the assigned market. Assists in the analysis, design and development of fully integrated technology solutions. Technical emphasis is on hardware capabilities, software requirements and systems integration. May assist in the development of responses to customer requests and proposals as required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Sales Team to develop and implement specific account penetration strategies, produce account specific product and service and sales plans.

Leverages knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections to EMC solutions, and train the account team.
Establish relationships with the account team, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives and engages and leverages corporate resources, abilities, budgets and personnel as appropriate.
Executes technical sales calls
Configures and documents EMC software, hardware and service solutions to meet customer and sales objectives.

Completes required presales documentation quickly and accurately.
Qualifies sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding.
Performs a support role in District Sales and Services Leadership Meetings.
Presents and markets the design and value of proposed EMC solution and business case to customers, prospects and EMC management.

Possesses detailed product/technology/industry knowledge. Knowledge of job associated software and applications.

EMC proven specialist required and or comparable industry certification(s)
