The incumbent must have the ability to perform the following essential job functions:
· Research, analyze and resolve complex accounting situations.
· Check figures, batch postings, credits, debits, and documents for correct entry on Excel and Access spreadsheets and databases.
· Prepare appropriate recommendation for corrective actions on problems encountered.
· Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills in completing special projects and ad-hoc assignments.
· Create and draft documents that are clear, concise, well-organized, and grammatically correct.
· Prepare and give formal and informal presentations to staff, peers and department management.
· Propose options/solutions to handle challenging situations - including identifying strategies, sharing insights and recommendations which lead to successful problem resolution.
· Work effectively in a compliance intensive environment with attention to detail by ensuring all established procedures and policies are adhered to.
· Communicate effectively and cooperate with department personnel, management and other departments by sharing information and answering questions in a clear, constructive, organized and cooperative manner with a customer service attitude.
· Provide management with regular updates of progress, issues and problems.
· Make recommendations to streamline workflow and eliminate redundant tasks.
· Provide feedback on employee development – by identifying areas of concern and/or improvement opportunities for team members.
· Learn, understand and support Bank vision on issues that benefit the department and division.
Position Requirements:
The Cash Administration Technical Specialist position requires a strong knowledge and understanding of various integrated accounting structures and experience in resolving accounting discrepancies.
The incumbent must have the following required experiences/skills:
· Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Access.
· Demonstrated understanding of the mainframe and web-based applications.
· Proven ability to support department training efforts for new software installations and upgrades.
· Strong experience in preparing, analyzing, and creating statistical reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis and identify trends with varying data.
· Proven ability to compile and analyze depository institution transactions and prepare entries to accounts, including but not limited to general ledger and customer accounts.
· Demonstrated successful leadership experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
· Experience interfacing with various levels of management on daily operational activities including outstanding items and time-sensitive issues which require attention/follow up.
· Proven ability to train and coach team members on various accounting structures and interfaces.
· Proven ability to display and encourage innovation, creativity and independent thought.
· A consistent display of initiative by recommending tasks and projects; seeking insight through questions to exceed the scope of assignments when appropriate.
· Demonstrated positive, ‘can do” attitude towards assigned tasks/projects.
· Ability to complete and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure consistently offering suggestions for improvement of department operations and projects.
· Flexible, open-minded, enthusiastic, and receptive to suggestions for improvement.
