The Monitoring Technical Support Specialist provides infrastructure and application technical assistance to our field support engineers who are installing and maintaining Liebert's Remote Monitoring Products. This individual will provide product support while working closely with manufacturing and other departments and will be involved with the application and engineering of monitoring solutions for Remote Monitoring offerings. Additional responsibilities include warranty review, service documentation, parts research, and other service related projects. This position is located in our Westerville Professional Services building. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of electronic and IT skills. Most of the support will be provided via phone and computer. Local candidates preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum four years electrical/electronic/IT technical degree or equivalent training and experience
· Minimum four years experience in computer, networking, or electronic fields
· Minimum one year experience interacting with customers in a support role required, technical support experience preferred
· BAS/BMS systems experience a plus
· Electronic Monitoring systems a plus
· Working knowledge of Standard protocols: Modbus, RS232, RS422, RS485, ARCnet, and BACnet, SNMP and network protocols a plus
· Working knowledge of computers regarding hardware, operating systems, and applications (including troubleshooting, installation, and operation of Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Novell, and other required operating systems)
· Protocols and integration experience
· Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
· Possess a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
· Ability to manage multiple projects/issues simultaneously
· Strong knowledge of PCs and Operating Systems: DOS, Windows 98, 2000, XP, and current systems and basic PC skills (spreadsheets, database, word processing, etc.)
· Working knowledge of transducers and programmable logic controllers and their application a plus
· Experience with a Building Monitoring System (BMS) or equivalent a plus
· Experience with Battery monitoring and battery technology a plus
· Experience with UPS and/or HVAC systems a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Technical Support
· Provide Domestic and International Technical Assistance
· Provide on-site Technical Assistance as required (infrequent)
· Participate in customer meetings and teleconferences as directed
· Participate in root cause investigation for critical sites
· Participate in development of service related documentation
· Participate in the Warranty Validation Program
· Provide support to Logistics for parts research, spare kits, parts sourcing, and last time buy
· Review ECN and develop Service Tips, Field Change Notices, and Safety Bulletins

· Provide Applications and commissioning support with ERM services as required

· Participate in tools and test equipment evaluation program
· Participate in development of departmental procedures/guidelines
