Technical Support Specialist

About the Job


Rider University's Office of Information Technology seeks a Technical Support Specialist to provide full technical support for the Foreign Language Labs. Individual will collaborate with faculty on departmental technology and work with faculty to keep up with new trends in technologies to provide quality teaching facilities to students. Individual must have a good vision and positive attitude to lead the department forward, helping give faculty and students the expertise in the multimedia, graphics, audio/video applications, as well as technical matters.


A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required with strong knowledge and at least 5 years of hands-on experience in direct user support in the Mac environment and providing direct support to Mac and PC users solving various software and hardware problems. Strong knowledge of Mac and Windows operating systems, desktop client setup, configuration and troubleshooting. Individual must also possess knowledge of IP protocols on end-user workstation, good understanding of basic issues of local area network, proficiency in the use of various diagnosing tools, and strong written and communication skills.
