About the Job


What you will do 


Under minimal direction, reviews customer’s systems during scheduled maintenance and repair. Recognized as the technical leader, works on, coaches and mentors the local branch and area for the security and fire operations. Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface. Provides consultant level services for the customer related to Security & Fire systems and ensures ultimate customer satisfaction levels with assigned customers. Provides consultative services and recommendations for system improvements to customers. With a high level of complete technical competence, mentors lower level Security & Fire Technicians and Reps on Security & Fire activities. Properly completes all documentation as required by the State and Nationally. 

 




How you will do it
1. Recognized as the leader in the local branch or area for security and fire. Supports all customers, as needed, through technical expertise. Escalation point and coach for lower level Security & Fire Technicians. Provides on-the-job training and mentorship for Security & Fire Technicians. 
2. Reviews customer’s systems during scheduled maintenance or repair, and if needed, points out other areas of improvement resulting in value added change orders or additional contract scope. 
3. Provides solutions to very complex Security and/or Fire system problems by either troubleshooting the system, advising others on how to resolve problems or performing the needed repair. Requires thorough understanding of systems software, national NFPA-70 code, national security, local code requirements, and ability to write or recommend modifications to programs as needed. 
4. Adheres to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards and all local or national code requirements. Provides safety leadership and instruction to all Technicians in the branch to include pre job checklist, job and vehicle audit compliance. Provides safety awareness and instruction to subcontractors on Johnson Controls work sites. 
5. Participates in assisting management with security and fire technician performance reviews. 
6. Regularly provides input on development and training issues, as requested through annual development planning and goal setting. 
7. Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. 
8. Maintains close relationship with assigned Account Representatives and Account Executives to strengthen JCI customer relationships. 
9. Proactively evaluates potential problems on the job and initiates action to limit negative outcomes. Provides estimates / quotes or negotiates additional work for customer. Coordinates and presents quotes and change orders to customers. 
10. Manages assigned work to meet professional execution, on time and customer satisfaction. Ensures job completion documentation is completed (all local or national code requirements) and coordinates transition from installation to service. Ensures profitable completion of each service request or task. 
11. Promotes usage of team Service+ Rewards and Tech Connect quoting activity at the point of service. 
12. Supervises troubleshooting and checkout of the system before release to the owner / operator. 
13. Reports problems or changes to management immediately. Interfaces with branch manager, service team manager, service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required in an ethical and professional manner. 
14. Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. 
15. Escalation point from the branch to the technical resource team in Milwaukee for critical issues. Serves as an internal resource on technical issues, and viewed as an expert in given fields by both employees and customers. 
16. Ensures owner / operator is familiar with and has been trained on the total system. Provides paper documentation and / or manuals for system operation. 
17. Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company. 










What we look for


Required


Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an Associate’s degree with equivalent related work and engineering experience. Five years experience in security industry and trade labor with proven project management experience. NICET level certification preferred. Proven team leader capabilities and supervision experience. Able to effectively represent Johnson Controls and communicate with others at varying technical levels.
