Technical Web Producer

Newsday Interactive is currently looking for Technical Web Producer to work with our Interactive division on our content management system (CMS).  Will integrate front end coding with back-end applications.  Develop website interface templates using technologies such as Velocity, JSP, CSS, JavaScript, HTML and XML/XSL.  Provide ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of the interface code when bugs or errors are encountered.  Assist product development, marketing and classified advertising departments in production of promotions, prototypes and testing.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of user interface development experience.
• Extensive experience with appropriate tools and languages such as Velocity, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML and broader open-source production.
• Intermediate knowledge of Flash, ActionScript 3, PHP and AJAX a must.
• Solid understanding of web technologies including technical capabilities and limitations.
• Professional experience collaborating in a team environment on large-scale website development projects.
