Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least 3 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Excellent written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software application; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

EG&G is seeking a Technician to assist with the installation, fabrication, modification and operation of test equipment used on special projects. Operate a variety of computer systems to assist in the collection and compilation of data. Operate: overhead crane, tow motor, pneumatic/electric power tools, welding equipment. Assist ES&H engineers to ensure compliance with all relevant State and Federal environmental regulations. Inspect and maintain personal safety equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus, protective clothing, etc.
Sample air for bulk industrial hygiene hazards; asbestos, moulds, PNAs, etc. Set up and prepare test equipment, collect and prepare samples, run tests, analyze results, and prepare necessary reports. Perform a wide variety of duties in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of computers and peripheral equipment.
Test electronic circuits and components to locate and replace defective components, P.C. boards, using appropriate electronic test equipment and hand tools. Maintain and repair P.C. hardware and auxiliary hardware. Maintain parts inventory, technical documentation and record of repairs. Assist photographer in all duties involved with the taking and developing of photographs, and in the Graphics Department to expedite flow of work. Set up camera, arrange lights, screens, and objects and move subjects to secure desired background for photographs.
Perform various darkroom operations duties such as stocking, chemical mixing and developing and processing prints. Assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhaul and repair of equipment. Assists with the preparation and handling of minerals for experimental testing and consumption. Physically moves mineral from one place to another. Screens minerals such as coal, limestone, shale and zinc to select the appropriate size for a project. Comply with all applicable policies, procedures and administrative directives. Provide miscellaneous technical and non-technical support as required or directed. The qualified individual will be primarily responsible for performing vessel corrosion prevention maintenance duties but may also include performing small welding tasks, plumbing pipe installation and general repair of marine and hydraulic equipment. The individual must be able to take and follow directions from Senior Technical Staff. Perform Fork Truck Operations. Ability to work individually for extended periods of time, assisting Naval customer on a regular basis.
