Technician - Controls - New Co...
Description: Responsible for overseeing installation of, and commissioning environmental-comfort systems, utilizing knowledge of HVAC systems and modern control techniques. Duties: End-to-end wiring checks, commissioning & programming of DDC controllers.
Use a variety of hand tools to install, diagnose, repair, and program HVAC equipment to shop drawing specifications.
Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
Document projects by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
Represent company by serving as a direct customer contact.
Provide technical support to customers.
Other duties as required.
Travel may be required.
Qualifications: Education and/or Experience Required:
4+ years industry experience with HVAC controls (experience with Trane controls is preferred).
Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints and/or engineering specifications.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Visio and other CAD software.
Knowledge of Tridium AX, certification is a plus.
General technical competence with computer hardware, software and compatibility issues.
Knowledge of basic computer programming is an asset.
Degree or diploma in a relevant discipline will be considered an asset.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs and ladders. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms and possible extreme weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock (high voltage); and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
