Job Overview:
ATMI is seeking a temporary Engineering Technician who can thrive in a fast-paced, technology driven, ISO 9000 (continuous improvement) environment. This position is located in the beautiful Texas hill country town of Burnet.
Primary Responsibilities:
Interfaces with Planning department on order fulfillment activities;
Conducts routine computer transactions such as placing orders, updating Lotus Notes and Oracle PLM;
Conducts hands-on lab and pilot scale distillations, chemical operations and sampling;
Performs operations maintenance including preventative maintenance, ordering supplies, and general housekeeping;
Provides on-time delivery of low volume products from production to shipping;
Proposes and implements process improvements;
Works safely and ensures the safety of co-workers, while striving for zero safety incidents;
Reviews and edits work instructions and standard operating procedures as needed.
Education/Experience:
Degree in Chemistry or related field (B.S. preferred but Associates degree with industrial experience will be considered);
Team player attitude with a desire for excellence and continuous improvement;
Flexible - ability to rapidly respond to new situations and perform multiple tasks;
Creative/innovative thinker and observer - quickly assesses problems and implements responses;
Ability to interact with cross-functional teams;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Lifting requirements of up to 50 lbs;
Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a full-face respirator as required;
Experience with Oracle and Lotus Notes a plus;
Familiarity with analytical testing equipment a plus.
