- Perform technician duties in the DSCS SATCOM terminal on Ascension Island, South Atlantic Ocean.
- Operation and maintenance of SATCOM under general supervision in operating, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, calibrating, adjusting, instrumentation electronics equipments.
- Support routine test operations, checkouts, and modifications.
- Ability to work irregular shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime.
- Additional duties will entail property control, quality control, supply functions, and shift work.
- Technician will work in other areas of communications along with other duties as assigned.
Qualification
- AS Degree in Electronic Technology, or two-year technical school, or equivalent military experience, and two or more years related electronic technician experience.
- Requires knowledge, understanding, and familiarity with the operation and maintenance of military satellite communications equipment including the antenna system, RF transmit and receive subsystems, and satellite modems and digital interface equipment.
- AN/GSC-39, AN/GSC-52 or AN/FSC-78 Earth Stations experience preferred.
- Ability to use and understand test and diagnostic measurement equipment, Fireberd digital test set, network analyzers, synthesized sweeper, gigatronics power meters, power sensors, multi-meters and spectrum analyzers required.
- Working knowledge of U.S. Air Force Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) desired.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
- Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, and establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and the public in a multi-cultural and team environment.
- Must have ability to climb stairs, ladders and lift 40 pounds.
- Must be able toobtain and maintain up to a DOD Secretsecurity clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Naturalization.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and U.S. passport required.
- This is a remote overseas assignment on Ascension Island, South Atlantic, and no family accommodations are available.
