Temporary Construction Inspector (9-12 months)

Associate's degree in engineering, construction management or related field or five (5) years experience as a responsible mechanic. Must have experience and/or core competency in high voltage cable installation, acceptance testing, termination, and low voltage electric. Previous inspection experience on government construction projects is preferred.

EG&G is an experienced NASA/AF contractor with over 40 years of experience supporting mission critical systems for NASA, the USAF, and other government agencies. We were awarded the NASA KSC Institutional Services Contract (ISC) at Kennedy Space Center.

EG&G is actively seeking an Engineering Services Construction Inspector to support our Kennedy Space Center operation.

The chosen candidate will perform daily site inspections in accordance/conformance with contract documents. Other duties include: inspection of work by other per approved drawings and specifications and approved shop drawings; identification and tracking of non-conforming work or materials, compliance with approved safety plans and State and Federal environmental regulations and permits. May serve in a project or site lead role. Witness all specified testing in addition to mandatory hold point inspections such as fire alarm systems, piping pressure testing, and insulation resistance. Develop official project punch lists from scheduled project walk downs. Monitors contractor work methods and safety practices for compliance with design specifications and drawings. Perform or assist with any departmental operations, in order to maintain workflow or respond to emergency conditions. Review construction project documentation for structural welding requirements. Provide real-time support to Customer on field aspects of inspection effort.
