Job Title: Terminal Manager

Job Summary

The Terminal Manager is a key operations link between the organization, driver and customer.

The primary responsibility for this position is full accountability for the terminal P&L, safety and recruiting, security, customer service, and the training & development of facility personnel.

Duties include

• Provide day to day managerial direction and control of designated facility to insure the proficient operation of all terminal activities.
• Develop and implement administrative procedures and operating quality control checks to monitor terminal activities and associated cost according to plan.
• Plans drivers’ dispatch, assigning loads to drivers according to customer needs and driver capabilities; ensures that all loads are covered and on time; prevents unnecessary company charges or liabilities.
• Freight solicitation.  Manager will be accountable for growing the operation while maintaining high service standards for our customers.
• Monitors equipment to move it as quickly as possible to reduce per diem cost for empty equipment.
• Driver recruiting and driver retention
• Accountable for all other aspects of the operation

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of DOT safety rules and regulations, including driver recruitment, selection, testing and qualification.
• Must have 2 to 5 years of Intermodal experience
•  Requires the ability to manage multiple activities and initiatives, and adapt to changing priorities on a day to day basis, while maintaining organization effectiveness.
• Mature, self-confident, and self starting
• Fluent in all Microsoft office applications
• Four year college degree preferred
