The Role
Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers seeks highly motivated, entrepreneurial sales
professionals to join us as Territory Managers in the following
divisions:
Industrial – our core
business. You must have a passion for the Big Iron! Territory will
be within the Pacific Northwest region.
Agriculture – our fastest
growing division. You have deep roots in the ag world and you have
blue, red or green iron in your blood.
Territory is the entire Pacific
Northwest.
Transportation - is
dedicated to increasing our presence in the over-the-road light-, medium-, and
heavy- duty truck and trailer industry.

In this role you’ll be mainly responsible for developing new business and
maintaining existing customer relationships. You will utilize a consultative
selling approach and recommend business solutions that allow our customers to
meet their business goals and objectives. This territory offers
tremendous individual growth potential for the candidate who possesses strong
skills in forging new relationships.
The Requirements
· A highly motivated and energetic sales professional with at least 3 years
experience in a quota-driven sales position.
· An excellent working knowledge of construction equipment, agricultural
equipment or over-the-road trucks and trailers that was gained in a
retail-selling environment with an equipment distributor or through rental
sales.
· Must have an awareness of the prevailing market conditions in the
construction, ag or transportation equipment world.
· You have the ability to meet or exceed goals without ever sacrificing
integrity.
· You are a natural at developing and maintaining honest customer
relationships. To be successful at this role, your interest must not lie
strictly with making the sale but in real, honest relationship building with
your customers. If we ask them about you, they’ll call you a
friend.
· You have a passion for people and sales, and everywhere
you’ve worked, you’ve cared for the business like it was your own.
· Excellent prospecting and new business development skills, plus a proven
ability to succeed in a competitive environment.
· You have a burning desire to succeed, and you’ve
demonstrated consistently that a solid effort made today reaps big rewards down
the road.
· You are entrepreneurial by nature and one of your key strengths is your
ability to manage your territory on your own.
· Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
· Experience with sales automation tools, databases and time management
techniques.
· A
post-secondary education would be preferred but is not essential.
· Fluency in a second language other than English is preferred but not
required.
This job will require
you to:
· Travel approximately 10 - 15 nights per month to cover
territory.
· Attend 10 - 12 onsite and offsite mandatory auction sales within the
region where you’ll meet with your customers and your colleagues a few times a
year.
· Work primarily on the road and from your home office.
